Students who want a head start can enroll in optional preparatory Arabic sessions offered before the trip. Those interested may contact admin@seekers.institute for details.

You do not need to know Arabic to join this program. Our staff and faculty will guide you throughout your time in Egypt, helping you navigate daily interactions and cultural experiences. Yes, Egypt is safe for travelers. Cairo is considered very safe, and the Madinah an-Nasr area in particular is a comfortable and reliable place for students. As with any large city, some areas are better suited for visitors than others, so students should inform staff and seek guidance before exploring areas outside of Madinah an-Nasr.

All accommodations have Wi-Fi, but students are strongly encouraged to arrange cellular data and must ensure their phones are not carrier-locked if they plan to use local providers. Mobile service can be set up through an international plan, a local Egyptian SIM (Vodafone or Orange, typically ~$15–20 for 50 GB and ~$10 for 200 minutes), or an eSIM (Maya Mobile or Airalo, ~$25–45 for 10 GB). An eSIM is the recommended and most reliable option. All students are required to share their live location on Life360 for the full duration of the trip, either through the app or a 360 Tile Tracker.

Airport shuttles are provided upon arrival and departure. Students are responsible for their own transportation for all other outings. Uber is the preferred and most reliable option, with fares typically ranging from $1–$3 USD per ride depending on distance. Students who do not plan to purchase a local SIM card should set up their Uber accounts before arriving in Egypt.
